
Gregory Dowd, BVetMed, MRCVS
Dr. Dowd owns the Arlington Equine practice and has been caring for the Abruzzi string since 2008. He is a 2004 graduate of the Royal Veterinary
College, in London, England. He completed an equine ambulatory
internship at TNT Equine in Dover, NH, and continued to train at New
England Equine Medical and Surgical Center until moving to Vermont.
Dr. Dowd is the current president-of the Vermont Veterinary Medicine
Association.
Fondly known as Dr. Greg in the barn, his passion for horse health and soundness makes him a corner stone in Abruzzi foundation for success providing the ultimate in care for our horses.
Greg is also a certified ECTRA judge and looks forward to
seeing some of you on the trails.
Greg and his wife, Emily, are the proud parents of two young boys,
Sam and Charlie with a little girl on the way! The family, their dog and 2 cats, are very happy to
be living in beautiful Vermont.
Jacob Snyder
Farrier, Trainer, Instructor
Jacob Snyder grew up caring for and showing Morgan horses on the A circuit at a local, regional and national level. In 2004 Jacob attended the Mid West Horse Shoeing School in Macomb, Illinois under the directions of Roy Evens and Earl Hallenback. Since Graduating he has shod numerous Morgans show horses to national and world titles, gives respite and long term upkeep care for case such as laminitis and looks after our string of lesson, boarding and training horses. Jacob also provides farrier services to the public for all disciplines.
Jacob works with his wife Anna to maintain the barn, give lessons and over sees the farm's yearly hay crop. Jacob also has a love of music and is the Owner Operator of DLP Studios. Jacob and Anna live on the farm with their two dogs, Karmine and Donkey and their cat Marvin.
Anna Radocchia, Owner, Trainer, Instructor
Anna came home to the family farm in 2007 to start her own business in pursuit of providing outstanding care, instruction and training services to the public. During high school and college Anna owned and showed her Morgan horses on the A circuit at a local, regional and national level under the tutelage of Judy Nason of Bellewether and then with Peggy Alderman of Salem Farm. Anna strives to provide every rider, driver and horse a solid foundation so that they may succeed no matter where they go, from down the trail to their first horse show.
Anna believes you never stop learning and continues her horse education
as a working student with Sebring Stables in Richmond Mass.
Anna graduated from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts in 2004 with a BFA in Photography. During the early days of Abruzzi's lesson program Anna also worked for Photographer Howard Schatzberg of AZ and Shane Shiflet of NC. These days in her free time, she studies landscape photography and continues to push her painting in new directions. Anna's art influence is visible throughout the barn, including educational murals about horses and tack, stall name plates and the colors chosen for jumps, barrels and lesson equipment.
Shannon Guy, BA, DVM
Dr. Guy joined the Arlington Equine practice in August 2010. She is a graduate of the
University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, after which she
completed her internship training at the Equine Clinic at OakenCroft in
Ravena, NY.
Dr.Guy bring invaluable in site and attention to detail while caring for the Abruzzi heard. Armed with her veterinarian dictionary brain she is ready and waiting to answer every one of Abruzzi's questions on everything horse health. From de-wormers to joint health Shannon helps keep our horse healthy from the inside out.
Shannon is originally from Iowa, where she grew up on a
Quarter Horse farm. Prior to attending veterinary school, she worked
at veterinary clinics in New Mexico and Minnesota and spent time
training in Vermont, Oregon, Washington, and Morocco as a student.
Shannon moved to Vermont with her partner, Laura, and their daughter, Piper.
